ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL - A woman is charged with felony aggravated assault after she allegedly threatened a man with a knife because he rejected her sexual advances.

Deputies said Elizabeth Highley, 56, threatened the 25-year-old man on June 16.

According to an arrest affidavit, Highley was entertaining him at her home.

Investigators said Highley told the man she wanted to have sex and became violent when he declined her offer.

She allegedly grabbed a knife and sliced the man's left thumb as he ran away from her.

Police caught up with her as she was chasing after the man and arrested her.

The arresting officer said Highley was angry, crying and appeared intoxicated when he took her into custody.

She is scheduled to be arraigned on July 11 on the felony charge.
